Bridging a Century of Heritage with Modern Digital Design

The Boelaars de Vries Stichting has been a pillar of support for youth and community initiatives in the Eindhoven region for over a century. Founded in 1924 by Cecilia de Vries to honor her late husband Petrus Boelaars, the foundation is deeply rooted in local history—originating from the grounds of the historic De Kroon cigar factory.

Krul Creative was entrusted with designing their complete website to reflect the foundation’s enduring legacy and ongoing mission. The goal was to create a digital presence that feels both historically respectful and highly accessible for modern grant applications. Alongside the comprehensive web design, a subtle and fitting logo was crafted to complete their cohesive identity.

The visual direction of the website centers on a sense of trust and timelessness. By utilizing a sophisticated palette of deep navy blue and crisp white, the design offers a calm, authoritative foundation. Elegant serif typography was carefully chosen to honor the foundation's rich past, harmonizing beautifully with the prominent display of archival photographs of the founders.

The website successfully connects the old with the new. It provides a clear, user-friendly platform that respects a hundred years of social commitment, ensuring the Boelaars de Vries Stichting can efficiently continue its charitable work and support for the community in the modern era.
